The Collective | Collective is a collaborative, multi-disciplinary design studio located in Brooklyn, NY and Co-Founded by Design Director Meg Kalinowski, AIA. We function as a dynamic practice engaging with public and private collaborators at home in New York City and beyond. We are staunch advocates of local action and champion causes that forge closer bonds between the city, its inhabitants and the natural and built systems we must care for and live within. From being a Rain Garden Steward in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn with the NYC Department of Environmental Protection, to working within a diverse cohort on aging communities in New York City as a Urban Design Forum ‘Lifelong’ Forefront Fellow in partnership with the NYC Housing Preservation and Development, the studio strives for multi-scalar projects which leverage design thinking across disciplines.

Our private client work spans across Design Strategy + Storytelling for a recent Lucas Museum of Narrative Art RFQ submission, to on-going Research and Education from the urban to architectural as visiting faculty at Pratt School of Architecture. Our on-going architectural work includes an Aging In Place Housing Curation, Renovation + Addition near Philadelphia, PA.

With a focus on the living and built environments, The Collective | Collective merges research, discourse, and design exploration to address diverse challenges from the way we connect with each other and our environments to increasingly complex socio-economical and socio-ecological challenges at the city and regional levels. Our collaborative practice embraces each new project with curiosity, and continuously evolves through our diverse, multi-disciplined partnerships with community stakeholders. We are excited to connect with you on your next project to build a collective, design-oriented think tank with actionable goals from micro to macro-level factors.

The Collective | Collective.
